Roman Reigns was seen holding a new championship at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event. The Tribal Chief held the new title and gave away his World Heavyweight Championship to another star right after dealing with an unexpected ambush.
Roman Reigns Poses With a Special Championship at WWE’s Saturday Night’s Main Event
The headliner of SNME saw The OTC enter Madison Square Garden in New York alongside Jalen Brunson. This was the first time the NBA Finals MVP was seen at The Garden after the New York Knicks won the 2026 NBA Championship by beating the San Antonio Spurs.
Roman Reigns praised the Knicks baller, recounting his feats before presenting him with a custom-made WWE Championship belt themed in the colors of the NYK. Following this, Reigns asked the fans in MSG to acknowledge them as he lifted the World Heavyweight Championship while Brunson held his newly received title up high.
Just then, Seth Rollins’ music started to play, but instead of him, Tyrese Haliburton entered the arena with a steel chair. Using the distraction, The Visionary entered the arena and attacked Roman Reigns. The Indiana Pacers’ star passed him the steel chair, but Brunson didn’t allow Rollins to use it.
This time, The OTC made use of the distraction and planted a Superman Punch on The Architect’s jaw. He then finished things with a Spear, making his former Shield brother flee the ring.
Following this, Reigns surprised everyone by giving his World Heavyweight Championship to Jalen Brunson. He then put the NYK-themed title around the NBA Finals MVP’s waist. But instead of staying empty-handed, Roman Reigns lifted the Larry O’Brien Championship.

Jalen Brunson and his team made history by ending a 53-year-long NBA Championship drought for the New York Knicks. Now, The OTC has to deal with a history of his own at the 2026 WWE SummerSlam, where he will face Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship. It would be interesting to see which Shield brother exits Minneapolis with the title.
