The Mavs are bringing back Cisse on their side via a new deal, bringing back the big man immediately on Saturday after inking a contract with the reigning NBA champions.

The Mavericks previously extended a qualifying offer to Moussa Cisse, making him a restricted free agent and giving them the right to match any outside offer he receives.
Cisse made 38 appearances during his 2025-26 rookie season with Dallas, averaging 4.5 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game.
Hailing from Guinea, the 23-year-old center went undrafted last year and earned a two-way contract with the Mavericks. He averaged strong numbers of 14.7 points and 13.1 rebounds per game with the Texas Legends in the G League.
Per NBA insider Jake Fischer, the New York Knicks identified Cisse as a young, athletic big man they aimed to sign. In the end, they have no choice but to see the promising big go back to Dallas.
