Liverpool remain favourites to sign Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The news that Chelsea have gazumped Arsenal in the battle for Morgan Rogers has raised fears that the Gunners could pursue Barcola instead. However, speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano said:
“Arsenal have not made any checks. While they made some checks on Yan Diomande, for example, they didn’t make any fresh check on Barcola over the recent days.”
“So, at the moment, the conversation for Barcola – Arsenal is still cold. I would say Liverpool remain very attentive to the situation. Liverpool remain very keen on Barca. So I stand by my information, and I keep telling you that Barcola – Liverpool remains
a concrete possibility, depending on the fee they want to spend, because PSG would ask for very important money.”
Barcola is very expensive
Paris Saint-Germain are believed to rate the France international as highly as Yan Diomande, and his asking price is reportedly €130m (£110.5m).
It is not known whether the Reds have the financial resources to meet the valuation, or whether the Merseyside club will be forced to move on to cheaper alternatives.

Iraola wants Liverpool to sign more players
It’s clear that the Reds WILL bring in a new forward before the transfer window shuts, with head coach Andoni Iraola having made it clear in his first press conference that fresh arrivals are needed:
“We’ve signed two players, we need more, we know this. We are working on this. As a coach, I want the players here from day one, selfishly, but we know it doesn’t work like this; we’re working hard for those signings.”
Progress on new additions has certainly been slower than most would have liked, and it remains to be seen if sporting director Richard Hughes can pull a couple of big signings out of the hat over the next few weeks.
