Sports media personality Skip Bayless suggested that New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo should be fined after botching a backflip attempt during his injury recovery at Fanatics Fest

Skip Bayless wants New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo to be fined after he used the busy Fanatics Fest stage like it was an Olympic trampoline, even though he’s still recovering from a serious injury that could affect the next NFL season.
Skattebo tried the flip at Fanatics Fest in New York City, right by the WWE entrance area, as Triple H’s theme song played in the background.
The Giants running back completed a backflip in May, but this attempt ended with him stumbling backward and landing on his backside as though he was drilled by an NFC East rival. That was all that Bayless needed to see. Meanwhile, the same event saw NFL analyst Tom Brady slap WWE star Logan Paul in the face.

"If I'm John Harbaugh and the Giants, I fine Skattebo," Bayless wrote on X. "So season-risking reckless."
Skattebo rolled up his pant leg, showed his knee, pointed at his leg and kneecap, then shrugged as if he wasn’t worried about his recovery right before he jumped.
That only made the failed landing look worse, considering the severity of the injury he is still working his way back from. The Giants running back finally worked his way back to participate in organized team activities this offseason and in mini-camp drills.
Skattebo quickly got back up, clapped his hands, and cheered, even though his landing was embarrassing. It didn’t help that iShowSpeed nailed one of the best backflips of the event during his own WWE-style entrance to Rey Mysterio’s music.
Speed at least has actual WWE experience after appearing in the 2025 Royal Rumble and later teaming with The Vision against LA Knight and The Usos at WrestleMania 42. Skattebo is an injured NFL running back recovering from one of the nastiest leg injuries of last season.
The Giants running back suffered a season-ending injury against the Philadelphia Eagles. He dislocated his right ankle, had an open tibia fracture, and tore his deltoid ligament, needing surgery after the game.

When Skattebo came back to minicamp in June, Giants head coach John Harbaugh said he told his running back, "maybe no backflips out here today," and they had agreed to avoid flips during practice.

Even though he didn’t follow his coach’s advice, Skattebo had shown real promise before his injury cut his rookie season short. In 2025, he had 101 carries for 410 yards and five rushing touchdowns, plus 24 catches for 207 yards and two receiving touchdowns.
His best game was against the Eagles, when he ran 19 times for 98 yards and scored three touchdowns in a 34-17 Giants win.
