Alexis Mac Allister reportedly sees his time in the Premier League as being at an end, according to a fresh claim.
After a season in which the Argentine looked fatigued and exhausted, it has surprised many Liverpool fans to see him so industrious at the FIFA World Cup with his country.
According to the Liverpool ECHO’s Liam Bekker, Mac Allister has covered more ground (75km) at the tournament this summer than any other player in attendance. This stat is not something that any fan would have predicted given how lethargic he seemed all season.
Indeed, the player has even spoken about how it’s pleasing to see Spain and Argentina make the final given the game’s move toward a more physical and less technical state.
He said: “Football is becoming more and more physical and that’s why it’s important that two teams who play good football have reached the final.”

Alexis Mac Allister believes “his time in England is over”
Now, however, after three years, Mac Allister appears ready to go on a new adventure.
Liverpool signed Mac Allister from Brighton in 2023 for £35m-£55m and he was an instant success at Anfield. Even if last season was not the best of his career, the impact Arne Slot had in his second season had a negative effect on many players – not just Macca.
