J.J. Watt’s wife Kealia steals spotlight with stunning summer swimsuit photo

Former soccer star Kealia Watt shared a glimpse of her summer with followers, and the stylish swimsuit photo quickly commanded attention on social media.

J.J. Watt is accustomed to being the center of attention, but the former NFL star was not the member of his family stealing the spotlight this weekend.

Watt’s wife, Kealia, caught the attention of fans after sharing a new collection of summer photos on Instagram. The former United States women’s national team player showed off her vacation style in a swimsuit while enjoying time away with her family.

“Gozzer Summer,” she captioned the post.

The swimsuit photo stood out immediately, but Kealia is much more than the wife of one of the best defensive players in NFL history. She enjoyed an accomplished soccer career before moving into broadcasting and joining J.J. in the ownership group of Burnley Football Club.

Kealia has built an impressive social media following since stepping away from professional soccer. Her Instagram page, which has more than 350,000 followers, includes family moments, vacation photos and occasional looks back at her career on the field.

Her latest post provided another glimpse into the Watt family’s summer.

Kealia and J.J. married in the Bahamas in February 2020 after beginning their relationship while they were both professional athletes in Houston. J.J. was starring for the Houston Texans at the time, while Kealia was one of the most recognizable players for the Houston Dash. The couple welcomed their first son, Koa, in October 2022. They later announced the arrival of their second child, adding another member to one of the most accomplished sports families in the country.

J.J. retired from the NFL following the 2022 season after 12 years with the Texans and Arizona Cardinals. He finished his career with 114.5 sacks, five first-team All-Pro selections and three NFL Defensive Player of the Year awards. Kealia put together a decorated career of her own.

Kealia Watt built an impressive soccer career

A native of Draper, Utah, Kealia won four consecutive state championships at Alta High School before playing college soccer at North Carolina. She helped the Tar Heels win the 2012 national championship and scored the winning goal for the United States in the 2012 FIFA Under-20 Women’s World Cup final.

The Houston Dash selected Kealia with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2014 NWSL Draft. She eventually became the club’s captain and produced one of the best seasons of her career in 2016, scoring 11 goals and earning a place on the NWSL Best XI. Kealia later played for the Chicago Red Stars and helped the club reach the 2021 NWSL Championship match. She also made three appearances for the senior USWNT, scoring in her international debut only 48 seconds after entering the match.

Since finishing her playing career, Kealia has worked as an NWSL analyst for Amazon Prime Video. She and J.J. are also minority investors in Burnley, giving both former athletes a continued connection to professional soccer.

Kealia’s career recently received renewed attention after J.J. defended her when Real Salt Lake referred to the group simply as “J.J. Watt and fam” during a visit. The club later apologized and recognized Kealia’s extensive accomplishments.

Her latest summer post showed a different side of the former soccer star. Even years after leaving the field, Kealia still knows how to own the moment.
