Everton have confirmed nine signings across the club’s teams so far this summer.
Hayden Hackney and Tyrique George have been the highest profile to date, the pair joining David Moyes’ side alongside Merlin Rohl.
A busy week for Everton Women saw Scott Phelan’s side begin their pre-season on Saturday with three additions, while the academy has also had its ranks bolstered.
The new face at Finch Farm when the men’s team started their pre-season earlier this month was Hackney after Everton secured an initial £16.5m deal with Middlesbrough for the Championship player of the year. That deal could rise to close to £25m should a series of ambitious targets be met.
It is a similar story with George, whose £18m move from Chelsea featured the potential for a further £6m in add-ons over the coming years. The 20-year-old was already a familiar face in Halewood after he spent the second half of last season on loan with the Blues.
Midfielder Rohl signed a three-year contract after his loan spell last season became permanent when Everton’s Premier League survival triggered their obligation to sign him from Freiburg for £18m.
In the Under-21s, Everton confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Zach Lee on Friday.
The 19-year-old had been on trial after previous stints with Barrow, Wigan Athletic, and Kendal Town.
After signing a one-year deal, he said: “It's an unbelievable feeling and I'm absolutely over the moon to get it done. It's a proud moment for my whole family, especially my dad. We’ve all put a lot of sacrifices and work in."
Two of the club’s 11 new scholars have also joined from elsewhere this summer. Promising forward Kai Hutchison was signed from Dundee United and he will start the new season in the U18s with left-back Tom McDermott, who has joined from Chelsea.
Everton Women, meanwhile, have signed striker Hannah Cain after the expiration of her deal with Leicester City. The move marked a return to the club for the 27-year-old, who signed her first professional contract with the Blues back in 2018.
Upon signing, she said: “Goodison is such an amazing place and it is nice to finally be in it as a home team player. I am really excited to be a part of it.
“I signed my first professional contract at Everton, so it is a full-circle moment for me, which is really nice. Coming back here, It feels like it is home for me.
“Having Goodison as our home shows how far the game has come. When I first signed my first deal, we played out of the city but now we have got this amazing place with so much history. When I played here at the end of last season, there was a lot of fans and the atmosphere was incredible. So I am really excited to be a part of it.”
The Wales international joined former Foxes team-mate Noémie Mouchon, who completed her move earlier this week.
Everton Women have also activated the permanent obligation for midfielder Zara Kramžar after the Slovenian’s loan spell with the club last season.
