After over two weeks of hard-fought action on the floor, the NBA Summer League has wrapped up for multiple former Badgers.
The trio of guards John Tonje, Nick Boyd and center Steven Crowl battled on the court against incoming rookies and young NBA players, as they fought to earn new opportunities. And a couple of names turned heads in a busy summer period.
Here is where things stand after the final buzzer sounded on the 2026 Summer League schedule.
G John Tonje
Tonje impressed with some monumental plays for the Celtics. With a couple of steals turned fastbreak dunks and several made triples, the former UW star flashed that playmaking ability across two weeks.
He averaged nearly 15 points in 24 minutes of play, finishing at the hoop and stretching the floor with 14 made 3-pointers over five games. Tonje totaled four games in double-figures this summer, only bolstering his case to be a two-way or potential standard signee this upcoming season.
Averages: 14.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.0 assist and 24.2 minutes.
PG Nick Boyd
Boyd wrapped up his first Summer League run with a championship as part of the Golden State Warriors. Though he did not play in the title game, the point guard earned consistent minutes in both Sacramento, California, and Las Vegas.
He regularly fought his way to the basket for tough buckets and consistently distributed the ball, securing 14 points, two assists and a pair of triples in his best showing. His scoring sputtered at times, but Boyd was a contributor each time he touched the floor.
Averages: 7.0 points, 2.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 14.3 minutes.
C Steven Crowl
Crowl saw limited time on the floor with Detroit, playing in three games for the Pistons. He wasn't an offensive factor, but he pulled down consistent rebounds and dished out a few assists in 13 minutes per game. He posted five points, six rebounds and a pair of assists in his best showing this summer.
Averages: 1.7 points, 3 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 13 minutes.
