Arsenal are reportedly closing in on the signing of highly-rated teenage defender Elijah Upson from Tottenham Hotspur after the 18-year-old opted against signing a new contract with Spurs.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Gunners are now in advanced stages of securing the defender’s signature, with Upson expected to make the switch across North London in a move that could further strengthen Arsenal’s academy ranks.
The youngster has been regarded as one of Tottenham’s promising defensive prospects, but after deciding not to extend his stay in North London, he has become available to rival clubs.
