Former Liverpool striker Emile Heskey says he has the perfect pitch to convince Bradley Barcola on a move to Anfield.
The Reds held a strong interest in Yan Diomande before news emerged that he preferred a PSG switch. Barcola has been put forward as an alternative should the French forward be willing to leave Paris, and his current employer be convinced to let him leave for a reasonable fee.
"If I'm honest, I'd go for Barcola (over Diomande)," Heskey told 10bet. "For the way Liverpool play, the club he's currently at, and the tactical style he's accustomed to, it just matches perfectly.
"He is incredibly direct, and that directness and raw energy on the left wing is something Liverpool have arguably been missing since Luis Diaz left. Diomande is a very strong prospect, whereas Barcola gives you that true attacking threat out wide.
"The pitch is the sheer history of the club and the direction it's heading. You tell him about the icons who came before him on that pitch, and you tell him that he could be the next iconic figure to lift that club up to winning the league again.
"It's the absolute best crowd to play in front of, to be completely honest with you. He would only need to come and experience one match there and he'd be completely hooked.

"He will understand the magic of Anfield, and hopefully, he will want more of that because it’s completely unique."
So far this summer, Liverpool has only added Victor Munoz to its attack and Jeremy Jacquet as a center-back. But Andoni Iraola said last week that working is happening behind the scenes on more deals.
"Obviously we've signed two players already but we need more players, we know this," Iraola explained in a press conference.
"The club is working on this. Me as a coach, selfishly I want the players here from day one, ready to train for pre-season, but I understand football doesn't work like this.

"I know the club is working hard for those signings, and I'm trying to help also."
Liverpool.com says: Barcola appears to be the best option who is likely to be on the market this summer. He is quick, direct, and scores and creates goals — exactly what Liverpool needs.
Now that the World Cup is over, you can expect the transfer market to heat up. Whether it is Barcola or someone else, the need for a right-sided forward to come in is obvious.
