Liverpool FC## Andoni Iraola and the Liverpool players who are back for pre-season training already are set to head to the US, with plenty of senior stars still to come back from holidays

While Andoni Iraola and some of his Liverpool players will head to the US for the next phase of their pre-season training this week, the group will be missing some key names.
Thanks to the World Cup, many are still on holiday even though there are only 34 days until Liverpool takes on Newcastle in its Premier League opener on Sunday, August 23.
Some senior stars like Dominik Szoboszlai and Jeremie Frimpong will be present, while youngsters including Will Wright and Josh Abe appear likely to get the chance to impress, but the team will soon be bolstered by more arrivals too.
According to The Athletic, Alexander Isak, Florian Wirtz and Ryan Gravenberch will rejoin their club teammates next weekend, meaning they will miss only one friendly this summer.
They will not feature in the game against Sunderland, but could play a part in the clashes with Wrexham and Leeds that follow, before the Reds return to England. At Anfield, they will face AS Monaco and Como.
Isak and Wirtz both crashed out of the World Cup at the last-32 stage, with Sweden exiting to France and Germany losing on penalties against Paraguay.

The Netherlands was also eliminated at that point, going out to Morocco around three weeks ago. Virgil van Dijk and Cody Gakpo also represented Ronald Koeman's side at the tournament.
Alexis Mac Allister and Victor Munoz are likely to be the last players to join the squad as they reached the final. Alisson Becker only made the quarter-finals with Brazil before being knocked out by Norway, while Wataru Endo missed the tournament through injury.
"It's definitely a chance to build a foundation that can give you such a good base for the season," Joe Gomez said this week when he was asked by club media about the importance of the next few weeks.
"I think in that regard it's hard to state how important it is. I think I've learned out of time you want to try to navigate it the best way where you adapt but also get through it healthy and ready to go.

"Everyone deals with it differently, but it is important for us all. Every single (pre-season is) different obviously and we've got a new gaffer now. That's a big variable that's changed.
"But in terms of understanding the club, I'm pretty well tuned.
"I think when I look at it from different perspectives, sometimes it feels like it has been 12 [seasons], and sometimes I can kind of condense it and it's like, 'Wow, that's quick!'

"There's obviously been ups and downs, but I've enjoyed the journey and I'm definitely grateful."
