Today is the day. Morgan Rogers is back in the UK after returning from the World Cup, and he’s taking his medical ahead of his massive move to Chelsea.

Sky Sports figured out what clinic the medical would be taking place at, and had their cameras in place, Italy style, to capture Rogers on the way in.

Assuming all goes to plan, Rogers will sign the final documents today, and it is then down to Chelsea to decide when to announce him.

You can see Rogers arrive in the video embedded here:

It’s a transfer which felt like it came from nowhere, but according to Ben Jacobs the rapidity with which the Blues closed it was due to feeling the pressure of Arsenal preparing a bid:

“PSG and Man United had shown an interest as well” the transfer insider wrote

“But in the end, the Chelsea project, the role of Xabi Alonso, also speaking directly to the player and [co-owner Behdad] Eghbali combined to allow Chelsea to move really quickly in anticipation of that formal Arsenal move.”

In other news…

The cost of the deal is going to be enormous, and you can be sure that Chelsea will try to send some players the other way in a move that could benefit both parties.

Alejandro Garnacho is another player who has been linked to Villa, and one we could very much see making a move later this summer.
