The [New England Patriots](https://nesn.com/new-england-patriots) definitely upgraded their wide receiver depth chart this offseason.
First, they signed Romeo Doubs in free agency from the Green Bay Packers. Then, they traded for A.J. Brown from the Philadelphia Eagles.
Yeah, they let Stefon Diggs go, but they essentially upgraded Diggs to Brown, then added Doubs to the mix, as well.
Those are big-time moves to help Drake Maye continue his ascension as one of the NFL's best young quarterbacks, but they also raise a question.
Is there room for everyone else?
Speculation existed a lot early in the offseason about a Kayshon Boutte trade, but most of the noise there has died down.
We're here to suggest, just based on looking at the depth chart, that a trade almost certainly is still coming for one of the wideouts in New England.
Boutte was a great player last season, with all of his regular season catches either going for a first down or a touchdown, and he wouldn't have to be the one traded -- but among the options, he'd probably garner the best return.
This depth chart also includes Mack Hollins, a fan favorite type of player who does a lot of the little things well.
DeMario 'Pop' Douglas is still around and still explosive.

Kyle Williams is entering his second year after being a third-round pick. He won't be traded, but will he get a chance to step into a bigger role? It's pretty darn crowded right now and could be tough.
There's also the promising undrafted rookie from a year ago, Efton Chism III. He'd be the logical cut if they keep everyone, or a trade for a late-round pick from another team, but he showed enough to consider keeping, too.
The Pats likely won't keep seven receivers, at least not for very long into the regular season even if they try that initially.
They won't be in a rush to trade, because an injury could solve this problem without any deals and instead make the depth particularly valuable.
But just because the rumors have died down doesn't mean they stopped making sense. A Patriots WR trade could definitely still be on the horizon.
