Club Brugge star Christos Tzolis is reportedly close to joining Arsenal having previously hinted at being interested in a move to Manchester United

Manchester United have been handed a transfer blow with Christos Tzolis closing in on a move to Arsenal - with the forward previously admitting he would be open to a switch to Old Trafford. United have had a busy summer transfer window so far, with three new arrivals already being confirmed ahead of next season.
Andrey Santos, Youri Tielemans and Karl Darlow have all been signed by United this summer, and there continues to be speculation that more new faces could be added to Michael Carrick’s squad.
One player who was tentatively linked with a move to United is Tzolis, with the Club Brugge star scoring 22 goals and providing 29 assists across all competitions.
However, it seems that the 24-year-old will instead move to Arsenal, after reports that a £34million deal had been agreed for the former Norwich City star to move to north London.
Greek journalist Dimitris Manakos has reported that Tzolis is expected to formally become an Arsenal player this week, with a medical pencilled in for Tuesday.
As a result, the report also claims that the Gunners are expected to announce a deal for Tzolis on Wednesday.
It was back in May that Tzolis admitted that a move to United would appeal to him, as the incoming Arsenal signing also outlined what he would look for in a new club.
“United could convince me,” Tzolis said in an interview with Het Nieuwsblad. “Such a massive club with so much history. It would be hard to say no to that.”
He added: “It would have to be a Champions League team from England, Germany, Spain, or Italy. Only PSG is a better option than those clubs.”
It remains to be seen if United will go into the market for new signings to strengthen their forward line, having revamped the attacking options in their squad 12 months ago.
Bryan Mbeumo, Benjamin Sesko and Matheus Cunha were all signed by United last summer, all of whom played a key role in helping the club finish third in the Premier League to qualify for the Champions League.
