Though, per John Hollinger of The Athletic, the conclusion might surface later than we initially thought.
While NBA Commisioner Adam Silver noted his hopes that the case will wrap up this summer, Hollinger states that it is unlikely it will fit that timeline.
"The NBA's collective bargaining agreement specifies that a cap-circumvention case must be tried before a system arbitrator and then potentially go through an appeals process before any penalty can be handed down by the commissioner. Are we sure this is all getting done in two and a half months?" the writer explained.
"Seemingly, the only pathways to an expeditious resolution are if the investigation produces no evidence of wrongdoing."
If no resolution is reached, the season could start with Brandon Ingram and Gradey Dick as Raptors and Kawhi Leonard as a Clipper.
