Ben White and Jurrien Timber have offered updates on their returns for the club as several Arsenal stars returned to the club for pre-season. Having spent some time in Marbella with some players, Mikel Arteta now officially starts pre-season.

Premier League champions Arsenal are hoping to defend their top-flight title for the first time since the 1930s. So far, the club has made two signings, including Piero Hincapie and Illan Meslier, with an expectation of Christos Tzolis’ move from Club Brugge to come imminently.

White and Timber were both hoping to take part in this summer’s World Cup, but injuries stopped them in their tracks. football.london understood both were recovering well over the summer, with surgery not required in either case.

Arsenal posted a video to their social media page with some of the returning stars like Myles Lewis-Skelly, Gabriel Jesus and Reiss Nelson. White and Timber were also included and were asked for updates on their situation.

"Knee's all good,” White replied. Adding: "Started training back with the team last week"

White had suffered the knee injury in the win over West Ham United in the Premier League. He had recently been recalled to Thomas Tuchel’s England squad and based on the injury situation in the Three Lions group, he would no doubt have been getting minutes this summer were he fit, and helped fix a problem position.

With William Saliba feared injured too, it could be White has a role to play in the centre of defence next season. Timber, meanwhile, fought to make it back for the UEFA Champions League final, but the groin issue he suffered against Everton has been plaguing him, and it was decided it was best he miss the games with the Netherlands.
