Liverpool’s coaching staff has undergone a shake-up this summer, with the club continuing to replace positions following Arne Slot’s departure causing an exodus of sorts back in May.
The exits of Sipke Hulshoff, Giovanni van Bronckhorst, Ruben Peeters, and tactical analyst Roderick van der Ham left several gaps behind the scenes, and the Reds have been steadily working through their backroom overhaul ever since.

Another exit was goalkeeping coach Xavi Valero, who left earlier this July.
Now Liverpool have officially confirmed that they have appointed Alejandro Rosalen as their new goalkeeping coach, replacing the outgoing Xavi Valero.
Valero has stepped down as Liverpool’s head of first-team goalkeeper coaching during the summer. He was previously at the club during Rafa Benitez’s tenure, and departs after just one season.
The 53-year-old was believed to have wanted to return to his native Spain. His departure is understood to be amicable and unrelated to changes in the head coach position.
The club have put out a statement confirming the news on Alejandro Rosalen:
“Alejandro Rosalen has been appointed as Liverpool’s new first-team goalkeeping coach.”
“His most recent position was at Serie A side Napoli, from 2021 to this summer. While there, Rosalen contributed to Napoli lifting the Scudetto on two occasions (2022-23 and 2024-25).”
“He had previously spent eight years with Fiorentina in Italy, a period that followed a single season at Hungarian outfit Videoton.”
“Rosalen’s coaching career had begun in Valencia’s academy, where he stayed for eight years.”
It’s then beginning to look a bit more settled at Anfield regarding Andoni Iraola’s backroom staff.
Assistant coach Tommy Elphick, set-piece coach Shaun Cooper, analyst Tom Webber and fitness coach Pablo de la Torre have all followed the Spaniard to Anfield from the Cherries.
All four were with Iraola as they helped Bournemouth to their highest-ever Premier League finish in 6th place last season.
