FORMER Liverpool, Blackpool and Watford winger Tom Ince is currently on trial with Tranmere having become a free agent earlier this summer following the end of his contract with the Hornets.
Ince, 34, lined up for Rovers in a pre-season friendly against his former club Blackpool on Saturday at Prenton Park.
Ince featured for Rovers in their 2-0 victory and is hoping to impress Tranmere who are looking for a much-improved campaign this time around after finishing fourth bottom in League Two last term.
Ince joined Watford in 2023 and made 93 appearances in all competitions, scoring 11 goals including a hat-trick in a 3-0 victory over Birmingham City on New Year's Day.
Following his departure from Vicarage Road, Watford chief executive Scott Duxbury, said of Ince: "He's been fantastic. He's a really good professional, he's fantastic around the place.
"He gave his all in training and was one of the best trainers we have had, every coach said that to me. He was a really good influence in the changing room and he will be sorely missed.
"They are the kind of characters that you need at the football club. I wish him nothing but the best for the future."
Ince, who is the son of former England, Manchester United and Liverpool midfielder Paul Ince, began his career with Liverpool, for whom he made his professional debut in the 2010–11 season, coming on as a substitute in the League Cup.
A move to Blackpool following their relegation from the Premier League saw him play over 100 games for the Tangerines, score 33 goals and play under his father who was manager there between 2013-14.
During his time at Blackpool he is thought to have rejected the chance to re-sign for Liverpool as well as turning down a moves to Inter Milan and Monaco.
Ince has also played for Huddersfield, Reading, Stoke and Derby County.
