Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley’s Chester County residence was targeted in an early-morning home invasion Saturday, according to local authorities. via NBC Sports Philadelphia. The suspects fled before officers arrived, and the Chester County District Attorney’s Office said Barkley’s family was not injured. Police also released an image of a vehicle they believe may have been involved and asked anyone with surveillance video or information to call 610-644-3221.
The incident occurred at approximately 5 a.m. in the Malvern section of Tredyffrin Township, the Chester County District Attorney’s Office said. The suspects fled before officers arrived, and no members of the Barkley family were injured. Authorities have not publicly clarified whether Barkley or members of his family were inside the residence when the incident occurred.
“We are incredibly grateful that the Barkley family was not injured during this incident,” the district attorney’s office said in a statement. “We are asking the public to help us identify those responsible by checking any home security cameras for suspicious activity in the area around 5:00 a.m.”
Investigators released images of a large white sport utility vehicle that may have been connected to the incident. Police are asking residents in the surrounding area to review doorbell cameras, surveillance systems, and other recordings that could show suspicious activity around the time of the home invasion. Anyone with relevant information or video was asked to contact the Tredyffrin Township Police Department immediately. No arrests had been announced, and authorities had not released information regarding how many suspects were involved, whether anything was taken, or how entry was gained. The investigation remained active Saturday.
Barkley is preparing for his third season with Philadelphia after rushing for 1,140 yards and seven touchdowns during the 2025 regular season. The Eagles are scheduled to report for training camp on July 28. The incident comes shortly before Barkley and his teammates begin preparations for the 2026 season. Football considerations, however, remain secondary to the most important development: Barkley and his family were not injured.
Authorities continue searching for those responsible and are relying on nearby residents to provide any footage that may help identify the suspects or the vehicle believed to have been involved.
