The World Cup is officially over. After the biggest outing of the tournament yet, Rodri was named the best player as Spain beat Argentina in the final to follow up their European Championship win two years ago.

Manchester City sent 19 players to the United States, although John Stones and Bernardo Silva became free agents in the middle of the tournament as they ran their contracts down. Nathan Ake has also since departed, signing for Fenerbahce in a £7m deal.

There was still plenty of City involvement for Blues to get excited by, including £116m midfielder Elliot Anderson after he completed a move from Nottingham Forest after the group stage. Anderson and England made it all the way to the semi-finals and there were six City players who were there until the final weekend.
