Coming off their Super Bowl 60 win, the Seattle Seahawks went into the NFL offseason with a few major question marks worth addressing.
While the decisions with Coby Bryant, Riq Woolen, and Boye Mafe were interesting, the biggest issue for Seattle was their running back room. Kenneth Walker III wasn't re-signed, leaving for the Kansas City Chiefs. Jadarian Price is Walker's replacement.
But that running back exchange is the main reason why Vinnie Iyer of Sporting News handed the Seahawks a mediocre "C" grade for their offseason. Losing key players and not replacing them as best they could is what got Seattle a lackluster offseason grade.
Seahawks get 'C' offseason grade for odd RB decisions
"The Seahawks had the typical post-Super Bowl-winning offseason, losing some key pieces from the pass rush and secondary that led them to that ring," Iyer writes. "They also couldn't afford to keep Walker and might have gotten a little first-round desperate to reload with Price given Zach Charbonnet's knee injury recovery."
While losing Woolen, Mafe, and Bryant stings a bit, the real big loss was Walker, their Super Bowl MVP, leaving in free agency. They could've rebounded better, but the Seahawks went on to take Price in the first round.
That draft pick was a reach and is a big reason why the Seahawks received a "C" grade for their offseason. Sure, they brought back Rashid Shaheed and Josh Jobe, but the players they lost were key to the team, and the additions are a bit questionable.

This team is still incredibly talented and one of the top Super Bowl contenders for the 2026 NFL season. But their offseason didn't exactly move the needle.
In fact, the Seahawks' offseason more likely diminished their chances of repeating as Super Bowl champions. That alone should make their offseason grade low.
Iyer handed the Seahawks a "C" grade for their offseason, and it's a fair grade considering the odd RB exchange they made and the departure of a few key players on both sides of the ball.
