Barcelona star Dani Olmo was at the heart of an unsavoury moment in the aftermath of Spain’s showdown with Argentina on Sunday.
This comes after the latter’s players and coaching staff alike completely lost the run of themselves in the face of an emotional defeat.
Spain and Argentina of course contested the biggest fixture in all of international football yesterday evening, locking horns in the final of the 2026 World Cup.
When all was said and done, the former emerged deserved victors, thanking a solitary Ferran Torres strike for a 1-0 triumph in extra-time.
The full-time whistle in New York sparked ugly scenes between the two sets of players, as a number of Argentine stars went on the offensive after being completely outclassed on the pitch.
And amid this chaos, match-winner Ferran’s Barcelona teammate, Dani Olmo, was the victim of a physical outburst.
After being approached by former Valencia star and Argentine icon Roberto Ayala – a current member of the Albiceleste coaching staff – Olmo was pushed and then struck by the 53-year-old.
