The News England Patriots are coming off a season that went almost perfect in regard to the end result. Mike Vrabel’s first season as New England’s head coach resulted in an AFC Championship and an appearance in the Super Bowl.
Going into year two with the team Vrabel is looking to build on what he started. Now, a 24-year-old will be added to the squad.

Patriots Add Young Weapon For Defense In 2026
On Monday, the New England Patriots filled their open roster spot. According to ESPN’s Mike Reiss, the team signed defensive lineman Isaiah Iton.
During spring and summer last year, Iton worked out for the Patriots. After showing promise in training camp and the preseason, he was placed on injured reserve in mid-August due to a hip injury. After the season, the Patriots did not tender him a contract as an URFA.

In 2024, Iton served as a member of the Tennessee Titans practice squad prior to joining the Patriots. Before going undrafted, he attended Northern Colorado, Hutchinson Community College, Ole Miss, and Rutgers.
