Morgan Rogers completes Chelsea transfer

Aston Villa attacker Morgan Rogers has completed his permanent move to Chelsea, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The England international is one of the best forwards in the country, and he was initially touted to join Arsenal during the ongoing transfer window.

However, the Premier League holders were reluctant to meet the asking price, which paved the way for the Blues to sign him for £117 million.

Rogers was convinced to join the west London giants after a personal chat with new manager Xabi Alonso over the project.

The 23-year-old has now completed his medical with the Blues and has put pen to paper on a six-year contract, as per Romano.

Rogers is likely to be announced as a Chelsea player tomorrow.

Chelsea are expected to continue their spending spree after Rogers and Marco Palestra with a move for a central defender.

Crystal Palace's Maxence Lacroix has emerged as the prime target and talks are advanced with the Eagles over the Frenchman's transfer.
