According to the social media posts highlighted by 49ers Sports Talk on X, it immediately caught the attention of former teammates Juszczyk and Kittle in no time, whose comments fueled speculation about a possible return to San Francisco.
“I have a guest house with your name on it.”
I also have a guest house labeled ‘Deebo’s second home.'”

Football was not brought up directly by either party, but that did not stop fans from seeing the comments in a more friendly light as recruitment. After all, given that Samuel played his first six years in the league with the 49ers, this interaction was enough to spark debates on whether a reunion between the two could be expected before training camp.
Samuel is entering the free agency period following a successful 2025 campaign in Washington. The 30-year-old was able to make 72 receptions on 99 targets for 727 receiving yards and five touchdowns, although there were struggles with the quarterback position during that time for the Commanders.
Most importantly, the wide receiver has now been recording at least 50 receptions and 600 receiving yards over the past five years despite constant doubts regarding his potential.
The return to the 49ers franchise would definitely make for an interesting story line. If the return actually makes sense for the franchise or not is something worth discussing. Indeed, the receiving corps of the team has changed greatly and Brandon Aiyuk’s future is also uncertain.
Still, the Instagram exchange accomplished exactly what fans hoped it would. It reignited excitement around one of the franchise’s most popular recent stars.
