GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - The Packers are extending DL Devonte Wyatt ahead of training camp with a 3-year, $57 million contract, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
The 2022 first round draft pick was slated to play this year on his 5th-year option, his last remaining season under team contract. The extension locks in a defensive stalwart long-term.
Wyatt’s presence has made a difference for the Packers’ defense. While the outside world focuses largely on the season-ending injuries to Micah Parsons and Tucker Kraft last year, Wyatt’s Thanksgiving day injury at Detroit was also hard to overcome.
Wyatt broke his fibula are tore ankle ligaments on the last defensive snap of a win over the Lions.
He also missed time in 2025 after getting hurt in the 1st half at Dallas. The team had given up nothing on defense before that malady, but couldn’t produce a stop afterwards, in a game that ended in a 40-40 tie.
Despite only playing 10 games, the 6′3″ 304-pounder had 4 sacks last season.
His new $19-million per year average annual value ranks 19th in the NFL among interior defensive linemen, according to SpoTrac.
