Broncos' Riley Moss could earn a major payday if he fixes one issue image
The Denver Broncos are expected to be a top Super Bowl contender coming out of the AFC West once again this upcoming 2026 season, and there are a lot of players to watch on this team.
For this Broncos team heading into 2026, there are plenty of players with a lot on the line. Troy Franklin, Marvin Mims, the entire RB room, and especially Bo Nix have a lot to prove. But one player on the defense has the most on the line.
Nick Kosmider of The Athletic identified Riley Moss as the player with the most on the line due to one simple reason: If Moss can fix one problem with his game, he could earn a massive payday when he hits free agency in 2027.

"If Moss can clean up some of the penalty issues that have plagued him the past two seasons, he could be looking at a major payday - be it in the form of an in-season extension from the Broncos or during free agency next spring," Kosmider writes.
Moss has been a productive cornerback for the Broncos in recent seasons, and while a lot of the focus is on Patrick Surtain II, rightfully so, Moss has been a key reason for the defensive success of Denver's defense the last few years.
While he struggled with penalties this past season, if he can no longer be plagued by such mistakes, then the sky is the limit with Moss's ability as a cornerback in the NFL.
Entering year four, the 26-year-old cornerback and 2023 third-round pick is coming off a strong 2026 season with 19 passes defended, one interception, and 80 tackles with an 88.2 passer rating allowed, which was the best of his career.

He's steadily improved as a cover corner over the last three years, and with one more season of positive progress, he could be among the NFL's best cornerbacks.
Moss has the statistics to be paid like an elite cornerback in the NFL, and if he can simply cut down on his penalties in 2026, then he could further prove he's deserving of a massive contract either by the Broncos or a new team in free agency.
