FootballTransfers runs through the latest Chelsea transfer news, rumours and gossip, including updates on Nicolas Jackson and Morgan Rogers.

Nicolas Jackson wants to stay

Nicolas Jackson reportedly wants to stay at Chelsea this summer despite significant rumours suggesting that he could be sold on a permanent deal before the end of the transfer window.

The Senegal international spent last season on loan at Bayern Munich, following a bust-up with former Blues boss Enzo Maresca, but Vincent Kompany’s side opted against triggering €65 million option-to-buy clause and the 25-year-old has now returned to Chelsea ahead of the new campaign.

Reports have indicated that Jackson will have the chance to impress new manager Xabi Alonso once he reports for pre-season training following his participation at the World Cup, and The Sun" href="https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/39802150/chelsea-nicolas-jackson-aston-villa-bayern-munich/" target="_blank">The Sun have now revealed that he wants to prove himself at Chelsea rather than leave the club this summer.

Aston Villa have been heavily linked with a move for the Senegal forward in recent days, with reports suggesting that Unai Emery may look to reunite with his former Villarreal pupil following the sale of Morgan Rogers to Chelsea.

However, Jackson wants to stay at Stamford Bridge next season and fight the likes of Joao Pedro and new signing Emmanuel Emegha for a starting XI place.

Morgan Rogers undergoes medical

Morgan Rogers has undergone his medical at Chelsea ahead of his British record move from Aston Villa worth €138 million.

The England international was expected to join Arsenal this summer, but the Gunners opted against matching Villa’s asking price and this delay enabled Chelsea to hijack the transfer.

Rogers will officially be unveiled as Chelsea’s all-time record signing shortly and he is set to sign a six-year contract at Stamford Bridge.

There are doubts over where Rogers will play under Xabi Alonso next season, with competition from close friend Cole Palmer, but former Chelsea midfielder Joe Cole is a huge fan of the signing.

Speaking on The Rest is Football podcast" href="https://open.spotify.com/show/2fDn3EgvJZ5J1k5rrBwrlZ?utm_medium=share&utm_source=linktree" target="_blank">The Rest is Football podcast, Cole admitted: “I’m really happy because he’s such a top, top player and he’s performed well. But I think that means Enzo is probably out the door because you’ve got to balance the books somewhere.

“I think he’ll play off the left and he’s really good friends with Cole Palmer… I think that’s a really good signing. I’m not sure where we’re finding the money from to be honest!”

Cole continued: “As soon as Elliot Anderson went for £116m then that was going to be the price for the next big move. Rogers is a brilliant talent but Chelsea still need a centre-forward.”

Alejandro Garnacho fee

Alejandro Garnacho is expected to leave Chelsea on a permanent deal this summer and the club have set their asking price at over €47m (£40m), as per The Telegraph" href="https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2026/07/20/chelsea-transfer-news-analysis-morgan-rogers-xabi-alonso/" target="_blank">The Telegraph.

It’s understood that Garnacho is keen to depart Stamford Bridge after just one season with the west London giants, and AS Roma have been heavily linked with a move, despite their ongoing pursuit of West Ham United winger Crysencio Summerville.

Garnacho still has six years remaining on his current contract at Chelsea, but a sale appears inevitable.

Benoit Badiashile interest

Napoli have contacted Chelsea regarding a possible loan deal for Benoit Badiashile, but the Blues will only consider a permanent transfer this summer.

That is according to Gazzetta dello Sport" href="https://digitaledition.gazzetta.it/data/21925/reader/reader.html#!preferred/0/package/21925/pub/25265/page/29/alb/1047014" target="_blank">Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that Napoli want to sign the Frenchman following knee injury to Alessandro Buongiorno and they could rekindle their interest in his signature if he remains at Chelsea towards the end of the window.

Badiashile only made eight Premier League appearances last season and he was excluded from Chelsea’s matchday squad in each of their last eight English top flight fixtures of the campaign.
