Yan Diomande to Arsenal: Arsenal contact RB Leipzig star’s camp as summer search intensifies
Yan Diomande to Arsenal. It is a link gathering serious traction now. Fabrizio Romano, reporting via Transfer Feed, confirmed that the Gunners reached out to Diomande’s entourage in recent days to probe whether a deal remains viable this summer. Arsenal’s primary target, Morgan Rogers, chose Chelsea over them in a £117m British record move. That stung. So Mikel Arteta’s side quickly turned their attention elsewhere, and the 19-year-old RB Leipzig winger finds himself firmly in their crosshairs.
The metrics driving the hype
The numbers behind Diomande’s appeal are genuinely striking. In the 2025/26 Bundesliga season, he scored 12 goals and registered eight assists in 33 appearances, averaging a 7.61 FotMob rating. He became the fourth-youngest player in Bundesliga history to reach double figures for goals in a single campaign. Leipzig paid just €20m for him from Leganés 12 months ago. Now they are demanding between €120m and €130m. That is an extraordinary turnaround.
But the situation is far from clean. A bitter legal dispute between Jay-Z’s Roc Nation agency and Maxidel Management, run by former Leeds winger Max Gradel, continues to cloud everything around Diomande. Roc Nation announced him as a client in February. Maxidel hit back, insisting the player remains contractually bound to them through 2027, with their claim stretching to image rights until 2031. The row has reportedly escalated to the Court of Arbitration for Sport. No club can practically progress a transfer until that gets resolved.
PSG, who recently appeared closest to landing Diomande, have also stepped back from the race. This sudden development opens the door to Premier League clubs. Liverpool are said to be interested too, so Arsenal face genuine competition even if the legal fog eventually lifts. As things stand on Yan Diomande to Arsenal, Arteta needs a left-wing solution badly.

Scorzo’s opinion:
This one is complicated. Arsenal supporters shouldn’t get carried away just yet. Diomande is a genuinely exceptional young talent, and those Bundesliga numbers at 19 years old are almost absurd. The problem is this agency dispute. It is a real blocker, not just noise. Any club trying to complete a deal before the season starts faces a logistical nightmare. Arsenal also need to ask themselves whether paying upwards of £100m for a teenager embroiled in legal uncertainty makes sense right now, especially after the Rogers disappointment. The appeal is obvious. The risk isn’t exactly small either.
