Barcelona forward Ferran Torres is entering the final year of his contract at Camp Nou, meaning he will be free to negotiate with foreign clubs from January and could leave the club on a free transfer next summer.
That situation makes the current transfer window Barcelona’s final realistic opportunity to secure a significant fee for a player they signed from Manchester City in January 2022 for €55million.

Torres has scored 65 goals in 207 appearances across all competitions for Barcelona, including 41 goals in 140 La Liga matches, while also providing 22 assists during that period.
The 26-year-old Spain international is attracting interest from Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain, according to a report from L’Équipe’s Loïc Tanzi.
Barcelona have made Torres available for transfer, with his current deal set to expire at the end of next season. Since PSG emerged as a potential destination for the former Valencia winger, other clubs, including Liverpool, have also registered their interest.
His performances at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, combined with growing competition for his signature, have contributed to an increase in his market value as Barcelona look to make a decision on his future.
Torres did not start the World Cup final but proved decisive, scoring the winning goal as Spain defeated Argentina 1-0 after extra time on Sunday.
Andoni Iraola still has plenty of work to do before Liverpool are ready to compete for major silverware again. The Reds were expected to be one of the Premier League’s most dominant sides last season, but injuries and a lack of consistency meant that was far from the reality.
Many fans would have hoped Alexander Isak could become the club’s next attacking star, but after an injury-hit campaign, the striker still has to prove himself to the Liverpool faithful.
Hugo Ekitike helped fill the gap before his own injury setback, contributing to 23 goals across all competitions for the Reds.
However, with the forward sidelined for an extended period, it is understandable why Liverpool are exploring options to strengthen their attack. That is one of the main reasons several attacking players continue to be linked with a move to Anfield.
Torres already has Premier League experience from his time at Manchester City, and at 26 years old, he could represent a smart addition for Liverpool. His versatility is another key asset, with the Spaniard capable of operating anywhere across the front three.
If given the opportunity, Torres could prove to be a valuable addition to Iraola’s squad, especially after scoring 21 goals and providing three assists last season.
