It’s hard to believe that the 2026 season is almost here, but we can’t wait for some football. The Buffalo Bills will soon kick off their training camp and then before you know, it will be Week 1 and they will be down Houston getting ready to take on the Texans.
After going through another heartbreaking playoff loss, the Bills decided to switch things up in a major way. They have a new head coach, a new coaching staff, and they added players on both sides of the ball that should help fix some problems that they have had the last few seasons.
When a team goes through major changes, there tends to be concern about whether or not they actually improved. Going from Sean McDermott to Joe Brady may work out, maybe it won’t. What we do know is that the Bills need to make a change and with Brady having the success with the offense that he did, he now gets the chance to run things his way.
While the Bills made some impactful moves that should help them overcome some challenges that they have faced in recent memory, some of their opponents for this season received praise from Jake Beckman of FanSided.com as being some of the most improved teams from this offseason.
3 Bills opponents could make Bills' journey more difficult
Beckman made a list of the most improved teams from the offseason, with three out of four of them being on Buffalo' s schedule. Those teams are the Rams, Chargers, and the Patriots.
The Bills will play all three of these teams in consecutive weeks from Weeks 3-5. Buffalo will host the Chargers and the Patriots, and then head out to face the Rams in Week 5 for a primetime matchup. Then the Bills will head to Foxborough in Week 13 to take on the Patriots again.
The Rams made the biggest splash of the entire offseason when they pulled off a trade with the Cleveland Browns to acquire Myles Garrett. LA was already stacked as a roster, and now with them having Garrett on the defense, there is no doubt that people will be picking them to win the Super Bowl and it may not even be close.
The Chargers brought in a coach that the Bills are very familiar with in Mike McDaniel, who will be the team’s offensive coordinator. McDaniel’s time as the head coach of the Miami Dolphins ended in a disaster, but there is no doubt that he is one of the best offensive play callers in the league. Now he gets Justin Herbert as his quarterback, who is a huge upgrade from Tua Tagovailoa.
As for the Patriots, their biggest offseason move was bringing in wide receiver A.J. Brown from the Philadelphia Eagles. While Brown wasn’t as electric with the Eagles near the end of his tenure, he definitely improved New England’s receiving core and with the emergence of Drake Maye, that duo could give Buffalo some trouble.
