Chelsea are expected to allow Marc Guiu to leave Stamford Bridge this summer, with both loan and permanent transfers under consideration.

One interested club has reportedly been told that Chelsea want £25million to sell the Spain Under-21 striker.

Nizaar Kinsella reports that Guiu is likely to depart before the transfer window closes. Chelsea have not yet decided whether a permanent move or another development loan would suit them best.

The reported valuation would deliver a major return on the forward. Chelsea signed Guiu from Barcelona in July 2024 after activating his €6million release clause.

Chelsea make Marc Guiu transfer decision

Guiu agreed a five-year contract when he arrived in west London, with Chelsea holding an option for another season.

The striker scored six goals in 16 appearances during his first campaign. Most of those opportunities came during Chelsea’s successful Conference League run.

Guiu joined Sunderland on loan last summer but returned to Chelsea after only three appearances. He scored once during his brief spell at the Stadium of Light.

His route into Xabi Alonso’s starting side remains difficult due to the attacking competition within the squad. Regular football elsewhere could offer the 20-year-old a better opportunity to continue his development.

Chelsea have already started making decisions over several fringe and young players. ReadChelsea recently covered how Alonso is assessing his squad before further transfer calls.

A permanent sale at £25million would represent a considerable profit. However, interested clubs may prefer a loan due to Guiu’s limited senior experience.

Chelsea must now decide whether to cash in or retain control of a player who remains under a long-term contract.
