June 2026 marked the 10 year anniversary of David Locke's Locked On Podcast Network. Locked On's X account
Locked On Podcast Network, founded by longtime Jazz radio play-by-play voice David Locke, celebrated its 10th anniversary this summer and has “evolved into the largest sports podcast network in the country,” according to Gordon Monson of the SALT LAKE TRIBUNE. Fans around the NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL and major college programs “listen in and view individual episodes of it, to the tune of nearly 2 million views and listens each day.” There are “more than 200 shows available, covering teams from coast to coast” -- and “each show, each team, in some cases each league, has an on-air talent or multiple hosts dedicated to everything.” Hundreds of episodes are recorded “rapid-fire, sometimes multiple shows in a single day, feeding the voracious appetites of fans who can’t quite get satiated.” The network was initially funded by Locke himself, before a “$750,000 infusion of cash from investors.” The network was then sold to TEGNA in 2021, for an undisclosed amount. Published reports suggest the sale was for “just shy of” $14M. Locke started by “searching for and hiring what amounted to part-time talent in cities wherever pro and major college teams existed.” Those jobs, “in many instances, turned into full-time gigs for that talent.” The network “shares revenue with its hosts, and then those hosts gain additional monies based on the number of listens and views they draw in” ([_SALT LAKE TRIBUNE, 7/19_](https://www.sltrib.com/sports/2026/07/19/how-utah-jazz-radio-voice-david/)).
