NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Titans quarterback Cam Ward enters his second NFL season with an off-the-field accolade. His hometown of West Columbia, Texas, is renaming a street after him.

The West Columbia City Council voted to rename North 17th Street to Cam Ward Way.

The honor is ceremonial. Residents who live on that street will not have their addresses changed.

West Columbia Mayor Laurie Kincannon explained the Titans’ reaction on social media.

“It was a very positive interaction, and they are excited to see West Columbia honor CAM in this way,” wrote Kincannon.

Ward was a two-sport athlete for Columbia High School before playing college football for Incarnate Word, Washington State and Miami.

The Tennessee Titans selected Ward with the top overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft.
