COATES COACHING AT HIGH SCHOOL
Sammie Coates was drafted by the Steelers in the third round in 2015. While he had some big performances, injuries slowed him down, leading to his trade in 2017. Coates bounced around the league for a few years, but he was out of the NFL after 2019.
However, that wasn’t the end of Coates’ time in football. He’s since transitioned into coaching. He was the wide receivers coach at the University of Virginia’s College at Wise, but he left last year to become the head coach at Columbia High School in Huntsville, Alabama, as he shared on The Stingray Network’s YouTube channel. That team hasn’t won a game since 2015, so Coates has a lot of work to do.
SCHEIN PRAISES RODGERS
Aaron Rodgers is a controversial figure. While he’s one of the best quarterbacks of all time, he also isn’t afraid to speak his mind. That’s gotten him in some hot water over the years, and there are a lot of people who don’t like Rodgers, especially in the media.
That doesn’t include Adam Schein, though. Schein has been a radio host for years, and he’s interviewed Rodgers multiple times. He even recently said on Peter Schrager’s podcast that Rodgers is his favorite person that he’s interviewed. It would be tough to find many other analysts who would say the same. Rodgers and Schein seem to click, though.
HEYWARD’S MESSAGE TO FANS
This season figures to be a big one for the Steelers. They’ve got a new head coach for the first time in almost 20 years, and it’s also Aaron Rodgers’ final NFL season. However, Rodgers isn’t the only player close to the end of his career. Cam Heyward is 37 years old, and while he was still great last year, he can’t play forever.
Heyward has a simple message to fans, too. D/S Sports MX on Twitter shared a video where Heyward was asked to give a message to the Steelers’ Mexican fans. He simply said, “Here we go.” It’s short but sweet, showing that Heyward is ready to try to capture a Super Bowl.
