The Dallas Mavericks signed Jett Howard to a Two-Way contract. Howard spent the first three seasons of his NBA career with the Orlando Magic. The 6’8” wing has appeared in 133 career games, averaging 4.5 points and 1.2 rebounds in 11.0 minutes per game.
In the 2025-26 season, Howard averaged 5.5 points in 55 appearances while posting career-best shooting numbers beyond the arc. Howard connected on 37.2% of his three-point attempts (54-of-145), highlighting the floor-spacing ability that the Mavs have been targeting this offseason.
Howard was selected 11th overall in the 2023 NBA Draft, he played for the University of Michigan during the 2022-23 season under his father, former Mavericks forward and longtime NBA veteran Juwan Howard. For Dallas, Howard represents another low-risk addition, hoping they can get the upside that made him a lottery pick. His size, perimeter shooting, and pedigree make him an intriguing developmental player.
To create a roster spot, Dallas waived Tyler Smith, who joined the Mavericks on a Two-Way contract on March 1. Smith appeared in 12 games for Dallas, averaging 4.7 points and 2.8 rebounds in 13.8 minutes before being waived.
