Arsenal are prepared to part ways with Gabriel Martinelli during the ongoing transfer window.
The Gunners recently sanctioned the permanent transfer of Leandro Trossard to Besiktas for £17 million.
Club Brugge winger Christos Tzolis has been earmarked as his replacement. The Greece international is poised to finalise his £34m transfer in the next 24 hours.
Arsenal are also expected to land a marquee left winger, who will start ahead of Tzolis, but they have no targets for now after missing out on Morgan Rogers to Chelsea.
In the mean time, there could be another exit. HandofArsenal, who exclusively broke the Cristhian Mosquera story last summer, has said that Martinelli is for sale.
Martinelli exit is inevitable if marquee left winger arrives
The Brazil international had a decent 2025/26 season with the Gunners, scoring 11 goals and providing seven assists. He made eight goal contributions in Europe.
However, his Premier League stats were unconvincing with just one goal and four assists. He played second fiddle to Trossard on the left wing for most of the campaign.
Arsenal are on the cusp of landing Tzolis, who could be assured a rotational starting role on the left flank.
The club recently suffered a huge setback with Rogers moving to Chelsea. The England international was widely regarded as the marquee left wing target for the English champions.
The Gunners now need to pursue a proper alternative. Bradley Barcola, Yan Diomande, Marcus Rashford and Vinicius Junior are among players that have been already linked.
Arsenal could also revive their long-term interest in Athletic’s Nico Williams. Whichever path they choose, it could have a direct impact on the future of Martinelli at the club.
Martinelli has under two years remaining on his £180,000 per week contract. Arsenal may want to remove his salary from the wage bill while securing a sizeable profit as well.
He was signed from Ituano for just £6m back in 2019. Calciomercato claim that the Gunners have set an asking price of around £38m to part ways with the 25-year-old star.
With Martinelli’s longevity at the club, that would represent pure profit under financial rules. His potential departure could speed up once Arsenal inch closer to securing their marquee left wing signing.
