Sunderland and Leeds United have been tipped to move for Harvey Elliott as Liverpool consider his future
Sunderland have been tipped to make a move for Liverpool attacker Harvey Elliott amid growing uncertainty over his future at Anfield.
According to Football Insider, Liverpool could consider selling the 23-year-old this summer if he fails to impress new head coach Andoni Iraola during pre-season.
Elliott has returned to Merseyside following a difficult loan spell at Aston Villa, where he made only nine appearances across all competitions and did not trigger the conditions required to make the move permanent. He is understood to be keen to prove himself to Iraola and fight for another opportunity at Liverpool.
However, several clubs are reportedly monitoring his situation should Liverpool become open to a permanent departure. Leeds United are credited with an interest, while Sunderland, Crystal Palace and newly-promoted Coventry City have also been tipped to explore a possible deal. Elliott’s extensive Premier League and Champions League experience would make him an attractive option, although the finances involved could present a significant obstacle.

Transfer valuations vary, with estimates ranging from €35million to around €40million. Based on the latest rates, €35million converts to approximately £29.7million. Sunderland are expected to assess several attacking options as Régis Le Bris looks to strengthen his squad ahead of a campaign involving Premier League and Europa League football.
Elliott can operate from the right, centrally as a number ten or in a deeper creative role, offering the type of versatility Le Bris values. For now, he appears determined to earn another chance at Liverpool, with his performances during pre-season likely to determine whether a transfer becomes realistic.
