‘Sick Feeling’for Arsenal as brilliant attacker agrees to make£117m move!

Chelsea have reportedly won the race to sign Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa in a deal worth £117 million, with former Everton and Aston Villa scout Bryan King claiming Arsenal will be left “feeling sick” after missing out on one of their top summer targets.

According to reports, Arsenal had tracked Rogers throughout the transfer window and were strongly linked with a move for the England international. However, Chelsea are said to have moved decisively to secure the 24-year-old’s signature, agreeing a fee that would rank among the biggest in Premier League history.

The reported transfer represents another major statement of intent from Chelsea as they continue to invest heavily in young talent. Rogers enjoyed a standout campaign with Aston Villa, establishing himself as one of the league’s most exciting attacking players thanks to his versatility, ball-carrying ability and eye for goal.

Arsenal had been credited with a long-standing interest in the forward as Mikel Arteta looked to strengthen his attacking options ahead of the new season. The Gunners were believed to admire Rogers’ ability to operate across the front line and in attacking midfield, viewing him as a player capable of adding depth and competition to their squad

Speaking to Football Insider, King said: “I mean I thought Arsenal were making all the song and dance about it, why the hell they never just went and signed him when you’re talking that kind of money.

“They paid £100m for [Declan] Rice so £17m more isn’t going to make a great deal of difference for the type of quality you’re going to get.

“You’re going to get the mainstay of the England midfield. But again, hesitation can be a bad thing in football, whether you’re playing or you’re looking for bringing new players. They hesitated. CHELSEA have hijacked it.”

Chelsea’s willingness to meet Aston Villa’s reported valuation ultimately appears to have been the decisive factor. The London club have consistently demonstrated a readiness to pay substantial fees for players they identify as long-term investments, and Rogers is viewed as fitting that profile.

For Aston Villa, the reported fee would represent a remarkable return on a player who has seen his stock rise dramatically since arriving at Villa Park. Should the transfer be completed on the reported terms, it would provide Unai Emery’s side with significant funds to reinvest in the squad before the transfer window closes
