Sky Sports News reports Arsenal target has turned down a new contract at his current club, amid interest from the top six this summer

Arsenal are among the clubs showing strong interest in Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott after he turned down a new contract. Sky Sports News understands the Cherries have made the 22-year-old a number of offers since discussions began towards the end of last season, but he has indicated he is not currently willing to agree fresh terms.
Scott has entered the final two years of his existing deal. Bournemouth do not want to sell and have already knocked back inquiries from Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United. The south coast club expect him to remain their player next season whether he signs a new offer or continues on his current terms.
United, Chelsea and Arsenal are believed to remain the frontrunners for the midfielder, who travelled with the England squad ahead of the World Cup. Other clubs are also keen. Bournemouth’s stance is part of a wider policy to keep their best players, including Junior Kroupi and another highly-rated winger.

Scott produced a strong Premier League campaign and came close to making Thomas Tuchel’s World Cup squad. Known for his defensive metrics as well as his dribbling ability and timing, he earned the nickname ‘The Guernsey Grealish’. He scored a match-winning goal against Arsenal at the Emirates last April.
New Bournemouth boss Marco Rose remains confident of retaining his key young talents. “I think Alex knows what he has with this club, and it’s always about the right moment to do the next step,” Rose said last week. “Because if you are a young player and you do steps – and nowadays it happens many times – too fast, too quick, then it’s getting difficult. The club is doing a lot of things to show the players that they are in the right place.
“So far, it’s not a challenge for me, to be honest. The first four days, we are in touch and my feeling is that the boys are feeling really good here.”
Arsenal supporters will be watching the situation closely as the Gunners look to strengthen in midfield. Scott’s ability to contribute both defensively and in possession makes him an attractive option. Whether Bournemouth can convince him to stay or one of the bigger clubs forces the issue remains one of the more intriguing storylines of the window.
