Alex Scott## Alex Scott is of interest to Arsenal with a potential transfer looking more attractive after the record-breaking deal for Morgan Rogers

Arsenal have been handed a boost to their chances of signing Alex Scott with the Bournemouth midfielder possibly costing just £60million. Bruno Guimaraes and Morgan Rogers have been the focus for Mikel Arteta's side recently, but the latter has since joined Chelsea for a staggering £117million.
football.london understands that Arsenal were unwilling to pay what the Blues ended up agreeing with Aston Villa with their value of Rogers being £80m.
That is also believed to be what Newcastle want for Guimaraes, despite the fact he has two years left on his contract and will turn 29 next season. Scott also sees his current deal expire in the summer of 2028 and despite being five years younger than Guimaraes, he may end up costing just over half of the fee spent on Rogers.
The Brazil international has informed Eddie Howe of his desire to leave and while Scott has not communicated that directly to his club, his reported actions suggest he is open to a summer move.

According to Sky Sports, he has turned down a new contract offer from Bournemouth as he is currently unwilling to accept their terms. It has been claimed elsewhere that the Cherries attempted to insert a release clause.
Manchester United have also been linked with Scott as they look for a third midfield signing having already brought Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos to the club. AS Roma's Manu Kone is also an option for both Premier League clubs.
Arsenal meanwhile, have confirmed the permanent signing of Piero Hincapie and also added Illian Meslier to their goalkeeping department on a free transfer.
The latter was among those that arrived at London Colney on Monday for the start of pre-season with Riccardo Calafiori, Ben White and Jurrien Timber also spotted.
Christos Tzolis is expected to join up with them very soon after a deal was agreed to bring him in from Club Brugge. He is likely to be the replacement for Leandro Trossard, who has joined Besiktas.
Another attacking addition is expected at Emirates Stadium ahead of the 2026/27 season with Bradley Barcola and Yan Diomande among the options mooted.

Potential offensive reinforcements are also under consideration at Old Trafford, with Crysencio Summerville and Iliman Ndiaye among the names mentioned, but any official approach remains on hold as Marcus Rashford's situation continues to loom large.
The 28-year-old is poised to re-join United's ranks following loan stints at Aston Villa and Barcelona. Rashford had hoped for a permanent transfer to the Catalan club, but that prospect appears increasingly remote with Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi arriving this summer.
