“May you be happy at Arsenal”–Manager confirms big transfer to Gunners

Christos Tzolis

Arsenal are inches away from completing the signing of Club Brugge’s Christos Tzolis this summer, and Al-Sadd manager Răzvan Lucescu has congratulated him ahead of this big move.

The winger has given clear preference to the Premier League winners, which helped them make quick advances.

Club Brugge have already agreed a €40m fee with Arsenal and Tzolis will be Jupiler Pro League’s new record sale.

At the weekend, Sport Witness covered claims from Belgium that the parties have ironed out the final details. The Greece international made a trip to England to undergo medical tests.

Manager sends message to Tzolis

Răzvan Lucescu has congratulated Christos Tzolis and also sent a message on what he needs to do to make his second spell in England successful.

“Hi, Christos. Congratulations on everything you’ve achieved so far. I know very well that it wasn’t easy for you. It took a lot of hard work, and it required many sacrifices on your part, first and foremost,” he said.

“You’re in a position that can bring you greater satisfaction, greater excitement, and an even more wonderful story.

“For that reason, I hope you stay strong, even stronger if you can, and keep fighting; make that your guiding principle throughout your entire professional life.

“Fight against yourself, fight against your opponents, and have many successes in this new experience.

“I wish you all the best, and I’ll be so happy for you. May you be the happiest player at Arsenal!”

Hard work to reach Arsenal

The 24-year-old graduated from PAOK and managed 17 goals and 10 assists from 57 matches.

His final match was the Champions League qualifiers against Bohemians in August 2021, under Răzvan Lucescu’s orders.

Later that month, Christos Tzolis moved to Norwich City and struggled during his first spell in England.

The Canaries sent him out on loan to FC Twente and Fortuna Düsseldorf before selling him to the latter. The German club then sold him to Club Brugge in 2024, and the attacker has excelled in Belgium.

Tzolis scored 43 goals and contributed 45 assists from 108 matches for Club Brugge. His impressive performances have seen him attract interest from several clubs and Arsenal will win the race.
