Liverpool target Bradley Barcola will not come cheap for Liverpool this summer and it remains to be seen if they will bite the bullet.

Barcola’s camp had reportedly shelved contract talks during PSG’s World Cup campaign, but with the tournament now finished, the winger’s future is set to dominate headlines in the coming weeks.

At just 23, Barcola has established himself as one of Ligue 1’s most exciting attacking talents, and his current deal running until 2028 gives PSG urgency to iron out a solution.

For Liverpool, who have long been linked with a marquee addition to their forward line, Barcola remains arguably the most tantalising name on their radar.

His pace, directness, and ability to play across the front line would slot neatly into the current squad, and the Reds’ recruitment team have reportedly kept tabs on his situation for some time.

L’Equipe report that Bradley Barcola will discuss his future with his management this week, and that PSG want a massive €150 million to part ways with the French forward:

“There remains another burning issue: that of Bradley Barcola. Upon his return from the United States next week, the French international, under contract until 2028, will discuss his future with his management,” reports Emery Taisne.

“Discussions about an extension, which began several months ago, were put on hold during the World Cup. PSG values its striker at €150 million and remains attentive to the market in the event of a departure. While the Parisian club has already lost Ramos, the trail leading to Barcelona’s Ferran Torres remains topical.”

David Ornstein previously suggested that Elliot Anderson moving for £116m to Manchester City would be used as a yardstick.

But it now appears that Luis Enrique’s side will ask will in excess of that. With talks between Barcola and his representatives now back on the table, the next fortnight could prove decisive.

Liverpool will be watching closely, aware that missing out on this window could mean paying an even steeper premium later, or losing him to a rival altogether
