Arsenal set to complete third signing after£33.8m winger arrives for medical

Arsenal are on the verge of completing their third signing of the summer after Christos Tzolis arrived in London to undergo his medical ahead of a move to the Emirates Stadium.

According to the Evening Standard, the Greece international will complete his medical on Tuesday before finalising the remaining paperwork on a deal worth £33.8 million that was agreed with Belgian champions Club Brugge last week.

The 24-year-old is expected to become Arsenal’s latest arrival as Mikel Arteta continues reshaping his squad ahead of the new campaign.

Tzolis joins after a sensational season in Belgium, scoring 22 goals and providing 29 assists in 52 appearances across all competitions as Club Brugge won the Belgian Pro League title. Since joining the club from Fortuna Düsseldorf in 2024, he has amassed an impressive 43 goals and 45 assists in just 108 appearances.

The winger is expected to replace Leandro Trossard, who completed a £15.3 million move to Besiktas last week, giving Arsenal another direct, versatile attacking option capable of operating across the front line.

Tzolis is no stranger to English football, having previously spent three years at Norwich City following his move from PAOK in 2021. During that spell he also enjoyed loan spells with FC Twente and Fortuna Düsseldorf before making his move to Germany permanent and eventually earning a transfer to Club Brugge.

Arsenal supporters also got a close look at Tzolis last season when he played the full 90 minutes against the Gunners in the Champions League league phase, despite Brugge falling to a 3-0 defeat.

The move will make Tzolis Arsenal’s third signing of the summer following the arrivals of Illan Meslier and Piero Hincapié, with sporting director Andrea Berta continuing to strengthen multiple areas of Arteta’s squad.

However, Arsenal’s business is far from finished. The Evening Standard reports that the club are now reassessing their attacking plans after missing out on Morgan Rogers, who completed a British-record £117 million move to Chelsea.

Several attacking names continue to be linked with the Premier League champions, including Bradley Barcola, Julián Álvarez, Nico Williams, Eli Junior Kroupi and Yan Diomande.

Defensive reinforcements also remain under consideration following William Saliba’s back injury, with John Stones, Ezri Konsa and Real Sociedad youngster Jon Martín all linked.

For now, though, Arsenal’s focus is on completing the signing of Tzolis. With the winger now in London for his medical, an official announcement from the club could arrive very soon as Arteta adds another exciting attacking option to his title-winning squad.
