Arsenal-linked midfielder Alex Scott has rejected a new contract offer from Bournemouth, potentially opening the door to renewed interest from a number of Premier League clubs.
According to BBC Sport’s Sami Mokbel, Bournemouth have made tying the England Under-21 international down to fresh terms one of their priorities this summer, but negotiations have so far failed to produce an agreement.
The report states that Scott has turned down the club’s latest proposal despite having two years remaining on his current contract, a development that comes amid increasing interest from across the Premier League.

Arsenal are among the clubs continuing to monitor the 22-year-old, alongside Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City and Chelsea.
The Gunners’ admiration for Scott is already well established. BBC Sport revealed in June that Arsenal made an approach for the midfielder earlier this summer, only for Bournemouth to reject the proposal as they looked to retain one of their most valuable young players.
However, Scott’s decision not to commit his long-term future to the Cherries could hand interested clubs renewed encouragement as the transfer window enters its final weeks.

Scott has developed into one of the Premier League’s most highly-rated young midfielders since joining Bournemouth from Bristol City in 2023 in a deal worth £25 million.
Since arriving on the south coast, he has made 89 appearances in all competitions, scoring six goals while playing a key role in Andoni Iraola’s side securing a sixth-place finish last season and qualifying for the Europa League for the first time in the club’s history.
His performances have also seen him break into the senior England set-up. Scott received his first senior call-up last November before being included in Thomas Tuchel’s extended pre-World Cup training camp in Florida, although he is still waiting to make his England debut.
Scott’s contract situation has emerged during a summer in which Premier League clubs have spent heavily on central midfielders. Elliot Anderson and Morgan Rogers are both closing in on blockbuster moves worth more than £100 million, while Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes have also completed high-profile transfers.
Against that backdrop, Scott remains one of England’s most coveted young midfielders, and Arsenal’s long-standing interest means his situation will be closely monitored over the coming weeks.
Whether Bournemouth soften their stance remains to be seen, but with Scott rejecting a new contract and several of England’s biggest clubs keeping a close eye on developments, his future is likely to remain one of the standout stories of the remainder of the transfer window.
