Chelsea’s record breaking deal for Morgan Rogers is going to be their most expensive signing of the summer – but it might not be the only bid transfer they make. The speculation that the Blues want to add a new midfielder continues, and the latest report from Kieran Gill at the Daily Mail makes it clear that the Blues are in the race for one of the most in-demand Premier League players.

Alex Scott is wanted by all the top teams, and Gill says that Bournemouth have already “rebuffed Big Six interest” in the dynamic midfielder, “including from Chelsea.”
The message sent to those teams is that the 22 year old is “not for sale”, and that he will be kept for next season either on a new contract or on his current one.
Clearly they’re trying to play hard ball. And it may yet work. If they convince Scott that they won’t sell him under any circumstances this summer, he may accept a new contract (with a release clause) just so he can get a raise for the season ahead. It sounds like a lot of teams will be watching to see how negotiations go.
