San Pablo Burgos announced the signing of the 29-year-old Slovenian forward to a one-year contract. The Spanish club will compete in both the Liga Endesa and EuroCup next season.
The 2.01-meter forward previously spent a season and a half with Burgos before moving to the NBA, where he won the 2023 championship with the Denver Nuggets.
Cancar returns to Burgos with plenty to prove
Cancar signed a multi-year deal with Olimpia Milan last summer, but his stint with the Italian powerhouse was cut short as the two sides parted ways in October.
Injuries limited him to only two EuroLeague appearances for Milan. He averaged 7.5 minutes per game and went scoreless in both contests.
Before joining Milan, Cancar spent six seasons with the Nuggets.
During the 2024-25 season, he appeared in 13 NBA games, averaging 1.8 points and 2.5 rebounds in 11.0 minutes per contest.
Across his NBA career, Cancar played 143 games and averaged 3.4 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 0.9 assists in 10.7 minutes per game.
