Liverpool's preseason tour of the United States starts this week, with three big games on the horizon.
The Reds will take on Sunderland at Geodis Park in Nashville, Tennessee, on Saturday before heading to Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York, for a friendly against Wrexham on Wednesday, July 29. Liverpool's trip to the United States will conclude with a clash against Leeds at Soldier Field in Chicago, Illinois, on Sunday, August 2.
Andoni Iraola has announced a 31-man squad for the preseason tour, with the likes of Virgil van Dijk and Alexis Mac Allister missing the trip due to their involvement in the World Cup. Without further ado, here are the latest headlines from Anfield.
Man Utd makes move
Manchester United has opened talks to sign Manu Kone, the midfielder who's been linked with Liverpool.
That's according to French outlet L'Equipe. The Reds are expected to bring in reinforcements this summer, having already signed defender Jeremy Jacquet and winger Victor Munoz. Kone, 25, is one of the players being talked about in the gossip columns.
The Frenchman, who was part of his country's squad for the recent World Cup in North America, has just completed his second season at Italian side Roma. It's believed that $68 million could be enough to persuade Roma to sell Kone this summer.

"He’s having a great World Cup," said Roma's head coach, Gian Piero Gasperini, earlier this month. "He didn’t play with the France national team last year, but now he’s been able to claim a starting spot. It shows his potential and the work he's put in."
Liverpool and Man Utd aren't the only Premier League teams interested in the player, as Arsenal is also said to be keen. Yet it appears Man Utd has made the first move in this transfer battle.
Iraola's decision
Iraola has decided to add Alejandro Rosalen to his backroom staff as Liverpool's new first-team goalkeeping coach.
The 49-year-old has replaced Xavi Valero in the role following the latter's departure earlier this summer. Rosalen may not be a household name among Liverpool fans, but he's got plenty of experience in top-level European soccer.
The Spanish coach spent five years working with Napoli's first team, helping the Italian side win two Serie A titles. He also spent eight years with Fiorentina before joining Napoli's backroom staff, having started his coaching career in Valencia's youth ranks.

Iraola spoke to the press for the first time as Liverpool boss earlier this month and gave fans a sneak peek at the kinda of soccer he'll play at Anfield. He said: "I would like to give them a team that they can feel proud of. I think football, and especially Liverpool, for me is about connecting, connecting with the people, connecting with our supporters.
"I've been in the other side at Anfield. I've experienced, I always say, the goal that (Federico) Chiesa scored in the first game of the past season, where you can feel this stadium – and I would love to have this every game we play.
"And it has to come from us, from inside the pitch, and we have to be a team that works hard, (is) intense, aggressive, vertical, so everyone can be identified, everyone can feel comfortable supporting this team."
