Newcastle United's stance on Bruno Guimaraes remains unchanged - with well-placed sources indicating that the club captain is still not for sale.
Radio silence has surrounded the deal in the last week or so with Newcastle chiefs insisting they had not received a bid, or even an official approach for the Brazil international.
Reports emerging from London this afternoon have now been deemed as agent "games" from those behind the scenes at St James' Park. Chronicle Live understands it would take a huge bid from Arsenal to even get Newcastle to consider selling their skipper - but as things stand there has not even been a phonecall.
Newcastle showed they were prepared to hold out for a hefty fee on Sandro Tonali when he was sold to Arsenal's rivals Tottenham Hotspur for £100m.

But as things stand, Newcastle have NOT held any talks for Bruno with Arsenal despite fresh reports, and there has been NO bid for his services.
Talk of Arsenal having a valuation of £60m has been deemed irrelevant as things stand because Newcastle simply don't want to part with the skipper.
Newcastle are understandably growing frustrated by their captain being unsettled and Bruno has not handed in a transfer request or indicated he wants to go yet.
The Magpies would need to hear that from Bruno before considering what comes next, but with no bid or offer on the table, Newcastle are focused on trying to get incoming business done.
It is believed that Newcastle are working on deals for a goalkeeper, midfielder and defensive cover. For Newcastle the transfer saga is getting close to last summer's Alexander Isak situation.
Back then middle men tried to ruffle the feathers with Isak and succeeded as he refused to train or play in pre-season before getting his move to Liverpool.
However, that was only because the Reds were given an ultimatum to pay £125m or forget the transfer completely. After initial paltry bids Liverpool returned with the money and Isak was sold.
Newcastle now expect Bruno to report for training next month after his holiday following his World Cup duties with Brazil.
Bruno has stayed silent on the matter all summer and posted a picture of Kevin Keegan on his social feed as the legend's death was made public.
