Chelsea appear to be closing in on what could prove to be one of the standout signings of the summer transfer window, according to icfootballnews reporter Iomie Stanley.
While the transfer has yet to receive official confirmation from either club, excitement among Chelsea supporters has continued to grow, and for good reason. If the England international does complete his move to west London, he could become the most important addition to Xabi Alonso’s squad this summer.

Having already proven he can influence matches at the highest level in England, he would not require the same adaptation period as players arriving from overseas leagues.
‘Perhaps Rogers’ greatest strength is his ability to drive at defenders. Blessed with pace, power and close control, he regularly commits opponents, creates space for teammates and carries the ball into dangerous areas. Those qualities have helped him become both a creator and goalscorer, making him one of the division’s most complete young attackers.
‘His arrival would also hand Alonso greater tactical flexibility. Rogers is capable of playing behind the striker, drifting inside from wide positions or stretching opposition defences with his direct running.
‘That adaptability would give Chelsea multiple attacking options throughout what promises to be another demanding campaign across domestic and European competitions.
Beyond his technical ability, Rogers possesses the mentality CHELSEA supporters have long admired. He has shown resilience throughout his career, working his way through the Manchester City academy before establishing himself in senior football and developing into a full England international.
‘Transfer fees will inevitably dominate the headlines if the move goes through, but Chelsea fans will ultimately judge Rogers by his performances on the pitch. On current evidence, he has all the attributes needed to thrive under Alonso and could prove to be the club’s smartest piece of business this summer.
